Richard P Hoffman, OD, FAAO
Dr. Hoffman received his Bachelor's degree from California State University, Long Beach and his Optometry Doctoral degree from Southern California College of Optometry. He received post doctoral certifications from the University of California, Berkeley.
Dr. Hoffman, a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, has been in private practice for over twenty five years in the downtown Los Angeles area. He has been a staff member of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles since 1975. Board certified in the management and treatment of ocular diseases, Dr. Hoffman is also a charter member of the American Optometric Association's section on contact lenses. In order to provide the latest in eye care treatments and services, Dr. Hoffman continues his education through the University, Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, the California Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.
For the past thirty years, Dr. Hoffman has also served the community by volunteering his time and services at the Ambulatory Care Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, proving medical and visual eye care for the needy. He has been a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Optometric Society and the California Optometric Association. Dr. Hoffman has also acted as a liaison between the Association and state and local politicians in matters relating to health care issues.
Dr. Hoffman and his wife Susan have two children, Caren, a medical student at the University of Texas, and Matthew, who recently graduated from the California State University,Northridge majoring in sociology. His hobbies include golf, baseball, and reading.
